Beulah Luckman

Beulah Genevieve Ellingboe Luckman was born May 25, 1915, at home in New Market Township, Scott County, Minnesota, to Ole and Rose (Thompson) Ellingboe. She was baptized on July 3, 1915, and confirmed on June 30, 1930, at Christiania Lutheran Church. She attended Lakeville schools. On June 17, 1936, she was united in marriage with Lloyd Winfield Luckman at Christiania Lutheran Church. After marriage they farmed in the Lakeville and Crystal Lake areas and then near Castle Rock. In 1960, they moved to Northfield and Beulah worked as a nurses aid. From the mid 1960's until the late 1970's she worked in food service at St. Olaf College. Lloyd passed away December 27, 2006. Beulah was a member of St.
Robert G. Farrell

Robert Gerard Farrell was born April 30, 1933, in Britt, Iowa, to Loren and Irene (Seibert) Farrell. He graduated from Crystal Lake High School in 1951. After his education he worked for Western Electric in St. Paul. He married Deanna Kanuit on July 30, 1955. On August 10, 1955, he joined the US Army and served until being honorably discharged on August 9, 1957. In 1960, they moved to their home in Forest Township near Faribault, and Bob worked as an electrician for Crown Cork and Seal in Faribault. In March 1980 Bob and Deanna divorced. In 1985, Bob decided to sell most of his possessions and live life on the road.
Gilma Estrem

Gilma O. Estrem was born April 22, 1917, on the family farm in Sogn Valley, Warsaw Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota, to Thom and Sina (Langager) Sparstad. She was baptized and confirmed at Vang Lutheran Church and attended District 128 Country School. After her education she helped on the farm and worked as a housekeeper for others. She married Edwin H. Estrem on November 5, 1938, at the parsonage in Dennison. After marriage they farmed Edwin’s home place near Dennison. Gilma and Edwin always farmed together, and during the 1970's Gilma also worked at Sheldahl. She also did a lot of baby sitting over the years. Edwin passed away on February 10, 1981, and Gilma remained on the farm until moving to Lakeville in 2001.
Peter Rappe

Peter Allan Rappe was born April 13, 1930, in Hastings, Minnesota, to Reuben and Elizabeth (Siniff) Rappe. He was baptized by his grandfather, Rev. O.V. Siniff, in Preston, Minnesota. He was raised in Minneapolis and spent summers in Preston. He graduated from Minneapolis Central High School in 1948. Pete married Merrilyne Gregg in 1953. He attended the University of Minnesota where he was active in ROTC and graduated in 1954 with a degree in architecture. Pete served in the United States Navy, and in 1955, he joined the US Air Force. In 1957 they returned to Minnesota, and Pete served until being honorably discharged in 1958. Merrilyne passed away in 1967.
John H. Thompson service notice
Submitted by andy.langehough on Wed, 09/10/2008 - 7:13pm.John Hoyme Thompson passed away Saturday morning, September 6, 2008, at the Northfield Hospital Long Term Care Center, at the age of 66.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 20, 2008, at the Northfield Retirement Center Chapel with Rev. Diane Goulson officiating. A reception will follow. John’s urn will be placed in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Columbarium in Northfield.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Frederick and Jean Thompson of Port Angels, Washington; his sister-in-law, Marilyn Thompson of Hastings; 3 nephews: Mark, Jonathan and Andrew Thompson and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Rev. David Thompson.
Arrangements are with the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home in Northfield.
Kenneth Peterson

Genevieve Odegaard
Submitted by andy.langehough on Sun, 08/24/2008 - 10:32pm.Genevieve Stenette Severtson Odegaard was born June 22, 1911, in Gruver, Iowa, to Rev. Thom and Anna (Murley) Severtson. She was baptized in Gruver and confirmed in Eagle Grove, Iowa, by her father. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1928, and attended Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa, where she met her future husband, Gustav B. Odegaard. In 1930, Gen transferred to St. Olaf College and received her B.A. in English in 1932. She returned to Eagle Grove as a school teacher and used her income to repay her parents so her brothers could attended college.

Funeral services will be10:30 A.M. Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Northfield. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Northfield. Visitation will be 4-7 P.M. Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home in Northfield. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral.
Survivors include 2 daughters and their husbands: Anna and Richard Thissen of Kenyon, Ruth and David Legvold of Northfield; 3 grandchildren and their spouses: Michael and Tania Legvold of Northfield, Mark and Jayme Legvold of Northfield, Jennifer & Justin Swain of St.

Funeral services will be 11AM, Monday, August 18, 2008, at Christ United Methodist Church of Randolph (27490 Gaylord Avenue). Interment will be in German Union Cemetery in Forest Township. Visitation will be 2-5PM Sunday, August 17, 2008, at the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home in Northfield. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday, one hour prior to the service.
Memorials are preferred to Christ United Methodist Church of Randolph, First United Church of Christ in Northfield, or the German Union Cemetery Association.
