Chairman's Corner - Thanks to Anne and Wendell

I am writing to thank Anne Bretts and Wendell Ellis for hosting what I hope is the first of many such face-to-face meetings of the northfield.org community. This type of event will even more bind us together as a cummunity, and their initiative is much appreciated. Everyone had a wonderful time and it is really nice to put
faces to names..

NCO appreciates all of their contributions and looks forward to a continuing dialog.

Chairman's Corner - Welcome to our new Executive Director

As most of you know, NCO is transitioning from its pure all-volunteer model to a real non-profit venture.
One of our first steps was to hire an Executive Director.

ArtOrg was out of this world tonight ...

example.thumb.jpgberkey.john.painter.JPGArtOrg outdid itself tonight with its showing of art by John Berkey (right). The Artist was present, and was gracious and low key as I and others viewed and praised his works.

Chairman's Corner - Annual Meeting

morlan100w.jpgThe NCO Board held its annual meeting Wednesday (26 Oct 2005).

We reviewed where we had been over the last year and where we are headed in the future.

New Board members were elected.

Chairman's Corner - October and Annual meeting

The NCO Board met with membership at the monthly meeting last week. There was some discussion (minutes are still not approved, so I won't elaborate too much yet).

There are some interesting developments and we look forward to everyone attending the Annual Meeting.

Demo Dude and Just Food Coop

I had occasion to run into Just Food Coop today and ran into their "Demo Dude", Luigi Sison (right). He was really interested in my problem, and took some time to set me up with a nice little dinner menu.

Disclaimer: I am a member of the coop and Alex Beeby (NCO Board) is an employee of Just Food Coop

NCO Board and Membership Meeting (Monthly)

Northfield.org LogoThe NCO Board will meet briefly at 7PM, Thursday night, 6 Oct 2005, at Badbrain Computers, then reconvene (I estimate 7:15PM) at the Contented Cow for the open portion of the meeting.

The agenda follows ...

Defeat of Jesse James Days Saturday

The James Gang rode into town yet again this Saturday. They were once again defeated by the intrepid citizens of the City.

Here we see the the altercation at the door, to be followed by those famous lines, "Get your guns boys, they're robbing the bank!"

Here we see one of the riders on the sidewalk, attempting to intimidate the citizens as the gang is exiting the bank.

One of our wetlands

One of our local wetlands caught my eye today. This little piece of heaven lies in the south-east quadrant of the CSAH 1 - I-35 intersection. (See the blue pond there on the map?). Actually, it lies due east of the overpass, since CSAH 1 curves north.

NCO Annual Meeting

Northfield Citizens Online (NCO) will host its Annual Meeting at 7PM, 26th October 2005 at the Northfield Public Library meeting room. The last year has been one of change and your NCO Board will be looking for more community involvement as we move to take on new challenges and expand upon the foundation that northfield.org represents.

Chairman's Corner - welcome to our latest patron

First National Bank
Another public-spirited local business has become our latest sponsor.

We are growing, and changes are underway. Our next Annual meeting is scheduled for later in October and we hope to add several new board members as we re-align our organization for these changes.
