Audrey Anne Moberg

Audrey Anne Moberg, age 60, of Northfield, passed away in her home on July 16, 2008 ending her four-year battle with breast cancer.

Audrey was born in Northfield April 16, 1948 to Donald and Eunice (Lilla) Lynch. She attended St. Dominic School through 6th grade and graduated from Northfield High School in 1966. Four years later, on April 4, 1970 she married James Moberg at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN. James and Audrey made their home in Northfield and were blessed with four daughters. Over the years she worked in a variety of different positions, none more valued than staying home and raising her daughters. In 1990, Audrey took a position at St. Olaf College in the Advancement Division. She worked there for over 18 years, until just weeks before her passing.

Throughout her life, Audrey pursued numerous activities. From sewing to baking, knitting to gardening, she loved providing for her family and others. Audrey sewed her own clothes as well as dresses for all her daughters at each holiday and eventually taught her daughters the same skills. She also passed on her talent for yarn crafts and found a renewed interest in knitting in the last few years. Audrey was a gracious hostess and enjoyed cooking and baking for family gatherings including a marathon family baking day before each Christmas. Each year, Audrey reaped the harvests of her gardens and canned vegetables and made jams. Audrey enjoyed camping with her family and instilled in her children her love of nature. Family vacations typically included state parks, long hikes, campfires, and quality family time. Audrey often preserved the joys of these trips and the beauty of nature in phenomenal photographs. She also became a patient birdwatcher; she and James spent hours watching eagles along the Mississippi, loons on Minnesota lakes, and the variety of species that frequented their backyard birdfeeders.

Audrey is survived by her loving husband James, four daughters: Jennie Moberg and husband Anthony Pierre of Northfield; Carrie and husband Ted Wilder of Savage, MN; Cathie and husband Chad Skluzacek of Nerstrand, MN; and Laurie Moberg of St. Paul, MN, grandchildren Nathan and Megan Wilder and Caden Skluzacek, mother Eunice Lynch of Northfield; mother-in-law Ordella Moberg of Northfield, 5 siblings: Kevin Lynch and wife Monica of Northfield; Elaine Lynch of Land O Lakes, FL; LaVonne Hangen and husband Rick of Valrico, FL; Gary Lynch and wife Susie of Northfield; and Ken Lynch of Northfield, and many nieces and nephews.
