Volunteers sought for First Steps Early Literacy Center at the Library

It's time to gather volunteers for the fall session of First Steps. First Steps is a parent or caregiver-directed activity center where toddlers and preschoolers are surrounded by alphabet manipulatives, concept books, board books and puzzles, all designed to be a fun learning experience. Volunteers are needed to monitor the room and keep it fun and safe.

Duties include:

• enthusiasm to promote early literacy!
• set up toys and books in the 1st Steps area of the meeting room
• welcome children & adults as they come in
• guide patrons to appropriate toys & books
• bring your children/grandchildren with you!
• split time with a friend
• easy and short training included!
• background check required

Volunteers work 2 hour shifts:

• Mondays 10 am-12 pm
• Fridays 10 am– 12 pm
• Saturdays 10 am –12 pm
