Weekend Happenings: September 12-14, 2008

Friday begins the Faribault Area Airfest at 5 p.m. at the Faribault Municipal Airport. There is an Exhibit Opening, Gallery Talk and Party at St. Olaf at 5 p.m. Occasional Jazz is playing The Contented Cow at 5:30, and Monroe Crossing is playing The Grand Event Center at 6:30. There is a Guest Recital at 7 p.m. at St. Olaf. The Northfield Arts Guild is having an Exhibit Opening Reception from 7-9 p.m. The Contented Cow is hosting James Curry at 8 and Joey Heinz is playing The Tavern Lounge.

The Faribault Area Airfest continues on Saturday at 7 a.m., and the Harvest Festival is happening in the Just Foods parking lot from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Teepee Tonka Park in Faribault is having the Tree Frog Music Festival starting at Noon. There is an Exhibit Opening Reception from 3-8 p.m. at the ArtOnWater Gallery. At 8:30, Urban Hillbilly Quartet is playing The Contented Cow. Jon Manners is playing The Tavern Lounge.

The Tree Frog Music Festival continues on Sunday at Noon. St. Olaf is hosting Songs for September: Music of Justin Merritt at 3:15 p.m. Politics and a Pint and Northern Roots Session are happening at the Contented Cow as usual at 6 and 7:30.
