(event) Summer Adventure Girls Start: 4:00 pm End: 5:00 pm Summer Adventure Girls is a program for 4th-6th grade girls. We meet in the meeting room of the Norfield Library every Wednesday from 4-5pm and all take turns reading aloud for the hour. We choose books with strong female characters and provide them for the girls each week. Once we finish a book we have a fun activity or event (often times requiring permission slips from partents). Everyone is welcome to join us at anytime of the program. The program starts June 25th and will go through the August 20th and will most likely pick up again in mid September. Our first book will be Caddie Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink. (event) 1000 Print Summer at Anderson Center Saturday Start: 12:00 pm End: 6:00 pm The Anderson Center in Red Wing, Minnesota is the next stop for the 1000 Print Summer project. The large slate of events starts at 12 noon and continues through the afternoon. Over 85 artists, musicians and writers take part in this annual event. The ArtOrg project kicked off last Saturday at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis with a great success. Walker authorities counted 590 people who participated at our tent, and 208 prints were made! See the photoset of the event. Thanks to Ted King, Ann Nordby, Rick Swearer, Kari Alberg, Keeney Swearer, Doug Padilla, snd several Walker volunteers for their great help! (event) Movie Night in Memorial Park Start: 8:45 pm The City of Dundas Parks and Recreation Board, along with the Dundas Baseball Association, is sponsoring “Movie Night in Memorial Park” with a free outdoor screening of Bee Movie on Saturday, July 12 at the Memorial Park Stadium in Dundas. The event, free and open to the public, begins at dusk, or around 8:45 p.m. The Dukes will open their concession stand with pop, popcorn, and ice cream available. The Parks & Recreation Board and the Dukes ask that movie-goers support their causes by purchasing all food and drinks from the concession stand, and that no outside food will be allowed.
